Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Gold’s price volatility has overtaken Bitcoin after tumbling more than 20% last week, underscoring how the precious metal’s once-explosive rally has morphed into extreme price swings, the most severe in two decades.

Bloomberg data as of Monday (2/2/2026) show that gold’s 30-day volatility has surged past 44%, the highest level since the 2008 global financial crisis. The figure eclipses Bitcoin’s volatility of around 39%, despite the cryptocurrency’s frequent portrayal as “digital gold.”
